Perverts! is a feature-length documentary exploring the sex offender registration laws and offender rights in the US. The film will focus on several different aspects of the sex offender situation and ask serious questions about the necessity and consequenses of these strict laws. Do laws requiring sex offenders to register encourage hate crimes? How does the average American think of sex offenders?

Currently, America thrives on a culture that promotes children as sexual objects. By sexualizing everything in an effort to sell, we have gie our disease to our children. Now they want to be sexy too. Are we making them sexual targets? And if so, can we blame those who buy into the fantasy?

In Miami, a man sleeps under a bridge because Florida sex offender laws restrict him from living within a certain distance of churches and schools. Now the man who fought so hard to get those strict laws on the books fights to reverse them. Why? Have we gone too far? Have civil rights somehow gotten lost in the clutches of fear and anger?

We are interested in speaking with registered sex offenders who are currently in a relationship with the "victim" of their crime, such as statutory rape or sex with a minor. We'd also like to meet sex offenders who have committed crimes that do not include aggravated rape, murder, or assult.

We are desperately seeking the assistance of an attorney who works either in defense or prosecution of sex crime cases. We're also looking for someone who can review our research for legal accuracy.
